Class Description
Dates: Wednesdays, Jan 10 – Mar 27, 2024, 2:00-3:00pm EST
Location: Courtneypark Library, Mississauga, ON (MakerSpace)In this 12-week class, students will explore the world of engineering through the creation of customizable, mini engineering projects. Students will use familiar tools (such as lego, Scratch & drawing) to create STEM projects with common engineering techniques.
Each couple of weeks will focus on a new skill/technique:
Week 1 – 3: Scratch & Makey Makey
Week 4 – 7: 3D Printing
Week 8 – 9: Snap Circuits
Week 10 – 12: OzobotsMy role in this class will be to enable students to use their creativity to build using various engineering techniques. In addition, as an engineer, I will take a small portion of the class to discuss potential career options in engineering – and where coding/circuits/robotics would be applied in these career options.
**Note: This class does not delve into in-depth coding concepts, rather uses them in the context of each individual medium being used. For beginner, intermediate or advanced coding classes, please check out my other courses.**
*To inquire about registration for students that are older or younger than the age limit, please contact the educator.
